4:00 a.m. came quick, and Grandpa was first up with a hot shower as the sinuses seemed clogged.  Then Drake and SJ with Palmer.  Then Grandma and Parker sound asleep despite the noise.  Uncle Logan was up and we helped finish packing at getting everyone out to the shuttle by 4:50 - 5:00 a.m. Grandma getting some snooze time in on way to DIA By 6:30 the truck was packed, condo departure checklist complete and ready to head out.  Logan reminded Dad we need to look for Drake's skis.  We parked out front and walked the entire area.  To Logan's credit he spied the skis inside a door to the Education Department office next door to the Ski School.  Unfortunately not open and nobody answered the number on the door. Grandpa parked the truck and after a bathroom break walked with Logan to the neighboring building Gravity Haus (Drake and SJ had dinner there Thursday night) so Logan could get coffee.  At 7:45 a.m. headed to the Ski School to see if we could g...

What a Bluebird day to spend the day on the mountain.  Ok, I'm ahead of myself as it was still dark at 6:15 when I woke to realize I had slept in.  I found Janie and Parker asleep on the pull out bed in the living room.  Janie made avocado toast with egg for breakfast and Grandpa cooked some pancakes for Parker and Palmer.  Parker geared up for lessons and Drake, Logan, David and Christa all headed out.  SJ and Grandpa caught up with a little later departure, but still a 9:00 a.m. start. We all headed in our packs to Peak 7, where David let us know Christa was at the base not feeling well.  After a couple of runs, Grandpa and SJ went down and secured a table.  SJ found Christa down by the bathrooms and let Grandpa know Christa was green.  After a little soda we tracked down Janie and got Christa setup for a pickup. David got down in time to see her off and the report later in the day was not much better.  Must have been the same 24 hour bug t...

Day 5 of skiing started at 5:00 a.m. with Palmer wanting everyone up.  Both her and Parker laid down with Mama in the living room.  Palmer struggled and stayed awake while Mama and Parker passed out.  Eventually everyone pulled it together with breakfast and getting ready for the mountain. Despite the forecast of 20% chance of light snow, it was windy and snowy all day long.  Thank goodness for low light goggles.  Even so this was the coldest day of skiing for everyone.  Even Parker braved the weather all day. Playing in the snow a requirement in ski school Now this is ski weather! Christa, SJ and Grandpa Gotta love the snow Palmer modeling her new shirt Then lap nap with Grandma Uncle David contributed this pic from the mountain. We met up with Parker at 3:00 p.m. to take another lift ride to the top of Quicksilver so Parker could ski down with everyone.  She showed improvement with balance and giggles on her stop by doing a 180 and falling down. Mama...

5:30 a.m. wake up to the granddaughters ready to rock and roll.  Over night snow was about 2" and the groomers were busy trying to get the mountain ready.  Light snow all morning with heavy winds.  The mountain will be interesting today.  Palmer started with a banana and both girls enjoyed oatmeal for breakfast. The crew has definitely settled into a routine and the condo has been really perfect setup.  Only downside is the laundry in the hallway and costs $4 for laundry and $3 for dryer.  First world problem of course. Ski Hallway By 8:15 a.m. Parker was ready to head to school with Dada.  SJ and Logan follower around 8:30 to meet up with Uncle David and Christa, however, Christa was not feeling well and opted to stay back.  Grandma packed up Palmer and headed to the City Market to get some more food supplies.  Grandpa took his time getting ready with goal of hitting the lift at 9:00.  All bundled up and out the door down to head ...
