Breckenridge, Skiing - February 27

What a Bluebird day to spend the day on the mountain.  Ok, I'm ahead of myself as it was still dark at 6:15 when I woke to realize I had slept in.  I found Janie and Parker asleep on the pull out bed in the living room.  Janie made avocado toast with egg for breakfast and Grandpa cooked some pancakes for Parker and Palmer.  Parker geared up for lessons and Drake, Logan, David and Christa all headed out.  SJ and Grandpa caught up with a little later departure, but still a 9:00 a.m. start.

We all headed in our packs to Peak 7, where David let us know Christa was at the base not feeling well.  After a couple of runs, Grandpa and SJ went down and secured a table.  SJ found Christa down by the bathrooms and let Grandpa know Christa was green.  After a little soda we tracked down Janie and got Christa setup for a pickup.

David got down in time to see her off and the report later in the day was not much better.  Must have been the same 24 hour bug that SJ and Logan had a few days ago.  Drake skied with his buddy Blunt (SP?) and caught up with SJ and Grandpa at the base of 7 to help out with Christa.

Grandpa, SJ and Drake geared up as David and Logan made it down to check on Christa and grab a quick break.  After a run on Peak 7, Drake and SJ headed out to Peak 8 to meet up with their friends, the grandma and daughters.  After several more runs Grandpa made it over to join them for a beer and break.  Then back up top and more runs on Peak 7 before heading back to Peak 9 at the days end.  David and Logan of course were up top looking for good snow including Imperial, Peak 6 at first run (awesome) and the Peak 8 T-Bar rope lift.

Grandma and Palmer after rescuing Christa from the mountain bundled up for shopping and lunch at Luigi's our favorite pizza pub in Breck.  Several Chief's watch parties on past trips.

Palmer patting her face with Napkin - so polite!

It was good Grandma

Janie found Kane's in a store window - John was not aware they even sold in Breck

Parker ski school was another successful day and she showed it on the Quicksilver lift run with noticeable improvement on balance and getting around in her skis.  She will definitely grow up a skier.  Dada stayed at Maggie's with Parker after dropping off her rental gear.  Grandpa brought down shoes, and took gear up to the room.  SJ came down with Palmer so the girls could all play together with their friends daughters.

Not sure what day this was taken, but a great pic

Logan and David were ski buddies a lot during the week up top

Both David and Drake had separate tee encounters.  David going through and catching a branch a finding himself in deep snow that made getting up very difficult.  Drake cutting through hit a buried stump and catapulted into a fallen tree.  David no injuries but pride, Drake a sore right shoulder that snapped off branch.

This is what a full day on the slopes looks like!

Hey guys Parker and Palmer in bed together

After they got up to the condo, David came up with Christa still not 100%. Before dinner, Drake and Grandpa trekked down to the ski school area to grab Drake's skis so they could go on the truck.  After searching there were skis, poles, gloves and other equipment scattered all over the place, but no Drake skis.  That did put a little damper on the evening, but Drake took the half glass full outlook.  We all enjoyed Janie's Shrimp Bowl dinner and fire that Grandpa built.  What a great evening that ended with everyone packing for a 4:50 a.m. pick up.  Grandma and Parker slept out in the living room again with the fire starting to die down.

Another memorable day on the mountain except Christa who had to hang out by herself sick.
